IMPORTANT: For organisational reasons, ESF Châtel can only confirm the definitive timetable for your private lessons within the 15 days before your arrival. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information.

We answer your questions

Would you recommend private lessons to beginners?
  • Private lessons can indeed be more helpful than group lessons to make progress at your own pace.
  • It is important that participants in the same private lesson are at the same level of skiing or snowboarding.
When and how can I book private lessons?
  • Outside school holiday periods (January, March), it is advisable to book in advance in order to obtain the time slot you require.
  Time slots may also be available at the ESF office, depending on the availability of instructors.

  • During the school holidays: we strongly advise you to book your lessons in advance. 
  We are unable to guarantee the availability of private lessons during these busy periods.

Can families share the same private lesson?
  • Private lessons are available for 1 to 4 people (more than 4 people: on request).
  • To share the same private lesson, participants must have a similar level of technique, otherwise the instructor will adapt to the lower level.
  • We advise against adults and young children sharing the same private lesson.
What is the meeting point?
There are 3 meeting points for group or private lessons:

  • Super Châtel sector: Meeting point at the top of the Super Châtel gondola lift.
  • Pré la Joux area: Meeting point at the bottom of the slopes, between the Pierre Longue chairlift and the restaurant "La Perdrix Blanche".
  • Club Piou Piou - Village des Marmottons : 1214 Route des Freinets - About 1.5 km from the village centre.
The choice of your meeting point often depends on where you are staying in Châtel, your means of transport (car, free bus...) and the period of your stay.
Will my child get a medal?
The medal is included in the packs of 6 private lessons.
For private lessons of less than 6 sessions, and as long as you have reached a minimum level, the medal is sold at the price of €8 (on sale at the ESF office on presentation of proof of level issued by the instructor).
